Professor Peter Alagona began his career at UCSB in 2008 with a joint appointment in the Departments of History and Environmental Studies. Professor Alagona is described as “a superb teacher who is motivated, energetic and committed to keeping his instruction on the cutting edge of content, delivery and outcome.”
He is particularly praised for his “interactive, student/professor collaborators-in-learning approach which is highly successful despite the size of his courses. In addition to his regular classroom teaching, Professor Alagona frequently takes on additional responsibilities. He oversees senior theses and regularly delivers guest lectures in other courses demonstrating that he is both in demand as a lecturer campus wide, and a team player in his commitment to education across campus.
Professor Alagona is a superb instructor, mentor and scholar. He delivers exquisite classroom experiences to his students while maintaining a very active research program and while rising to be a campus leader in the environmental arena.
