187. Appeals

An academic decision made by a Divisional council empowered to act without subsequent Faculty Legislature approval may be appealed, in writing, by any member of the division directly to the council within 15 days of the decision. The appeal is considered at the next regular meeting of the council, and the chair will issue a written response within 10 days of the meeting. If either any ten members of the division or the chair of a department, program, or interdisciplinary group finds the council's decision to be unacceptable, they may appeal, in writing, to the Executive Council within 15 days of the council's response. The appeal is considered at the next regular meeting of the Executive Council, and the chair will issue a written decision within 10 days of the meeting. If any ten members of the division or the chair of a department, program, or interdisciplinary group find the Executive Council's decision unacceptable, they may appeal to the Faculty Legislature in writing within 15 days of the Executive Council's decision.
